If you have a website in the European Union, you will need to upgrade it to only collect cookies if your website user gives you permission. If you have bought a website since 26 May 2011 this feature should come as standard, so ask your website designer if you think they haven’t complied with the law. Even worse, some website agencies are charging hundreds of pounds to their customers when it only takes a few minutes to do. Here is how:

It is impossible for us to advice you on how to fix all websites for those without technical skills, but here is what you can do if you are able to edit your website’s code and upload new files. Download this file (usually a ‘right-click’ and ‘save’ option). Upload it to the ‘root directory’ of your website. Add the follow code to your website’s template, or insert it in each page as appropriate.
Don’t forget to copy and paste our FREE terms and conditions to your website and edit them with your business details. When you have done this you’re compliant.
